Pastoral Care

Your child’s wellbeing is of the utmost importance to us. We want them to be happy and thrive, enjoying their learning every day, whilst feeling comfortable enough to know they can express their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment.

Our attentive, welcoming staff are always on hand to provide guidance, advice, and support. We offer an environment that is inclusive, caring and kind. Your child’s form tutor will be their first port of call, but any member of our staff will always take the time to listen.

The wellbeing of your child is supported by our vast activities programme, Wellbeing Wednesdays, a dedicated wellbeing area on our pupil portal and more. Your child's Form Tutor, is their first point of contact throughout the day and new pupils joining the School are paired up with a 'buddy' to look after them.

Beyond the Classroom

We recognise that time away from lessons, exploring new interests, is important for maintaining breath and balance. Our activities programme enables your child to have down time, to relax and put their mind to something other than academic work. It ensures their wellbeing is being looked after.

Our Arboretum

A pupil-led initiative, our Arboretum is a purpose-built area designed to facilitate your child’s wellbeing and mental health, as well as outdoor learning. A tranquil, quiet area to go during break and lunch times, here your child can relax, spend time with their friends, and be close to nature.

Wraparound Care

We offer an early and late stay provision for all our families, during which your child will be looked after by our friendly staff. Our wraparound care provision gives your child a chance to build new friendships, participate in an activity and complete homework.

Learning Support

Proud to be an inclusive learning community, our Learning Support team is here to ensure your child receives the extra time, care, and guidance to develop their learning should they require it.

Comprising of experienced and specialised professionals, our team work across the College in tandem with staff to devise a bespoke programme for your child’s needs. Qualified Specialist Assessors, several members of our team can provide pupil assessments, if requested by staff, for eligibility for Access Arrangments for internal and external examinations.

English for Speakers of Other Languages

If your child’s first language is not English, our English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Department is here to support them. Our dedicated team of staff will encourage your child to use English for every day, social, academic, and professional purposes in the key areas of reading, writing, speaking, and listening.

With traditions and cultural awareness forming an important aspect of language acquisition, these are factored into the teaching programme as well as pastorally in our form groups, and in our Prep School boarding house.
