Pre-Prep
During their three years in our Pre-Prep, your child will not only develop a love of learning, but will also become well-grounded in basic social, emotional, and academic skills. They will be encouraged to become independent learners, creative thinkers, and develop the confidence to try new things.
Surrounded by enthusiastic staff who want your child to reach their full potential, our Pre-Prep provides an enriching environment which stimulates and challenges our pupils. We nurture every aspect of your child, supporting and guiding them to develop the skills and mindset which will open the door to life-long learning.
Our environment supports the development of our learning muscles, and nine key areas for your child to thrive in: Challenge, Curiosity, Creativity, Collaboration, Focus, Persistence, and Independence.
Our Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum is broad and balanced, providing unique opportunities for your child to flourish in their learning. First-hand experiences and purposeful interactions, in the moment opportunities, and carefully planned adult or child-initiated activities are the foundations of our EYFS curriculum, whilst continually looking ahead to the skills and behaviours of Key Stage 1.
The EYFS Framework is divided into two areas: Prime and Specific.
During Years 1 and 2, your child will study a variety of subjects under what are known as umbrella topics, alongside subjects which have specific skills outside of these umbrella topics.
Modern Foreign Languages, including French, German and Spanish are taught by specialist teachers from our Prep and Senior Schools.
Delivered in a holistic approach, our Key Stage 1 curriculum is differentiated to suit the needs of our pupils.
Offering unique opportunities to discover, explore and create in a natural, vivid, and safe environment, our Forest School is integral to the holistic approach we take in ensuring your child engages with their learning.
Based in our onsite Pre-Prep woodland area, your child will discover the wonder of nature and outdoor learning in weekly Forest School sessions. Your child will have the freedom to explore our ever-changing environment, whilst learning valuable lifelong skills including communication, teamwork, problem solving and more.
