Wrap-Around Care in the Pre-Prep

We believe that children should have the opportunity to be involved in experiences that will enable them to make choices. Our After School provision is continually evolving, from our long established 'Late Stay' where children stay and play, to activities such as musical theatre, ballet, football, gym, golf and tennis. Staff also provide clubs such as choir.

Wrap-Around Care:

  • Early Stay from 7.45am – 8.20am
  • Late Stay (first session) up to 4.50pm
  • Late Stay (second session) up to 6.00pm

We view our After School provision as extending opportunities, friendships and education for our children as they learn new skills, master an art and develop their self esteem.

We now also offer an 'Early Stay' service. Subject to availability to provide the opportunity for children to be booked into Early Stay from 8.00am - 8.30am (the start of the Pre-Prep day) where children will enjoy a variety of activities, before school starts.

Homework

Pre-Prep School children have reading or another activity every day.

The nature of the work is at the teacher’s discretion and children in the same class will not necessarily have the same work.

The activity should take no longer than 15 minutes in Reception and 30 minutes in Years 1 and 2 when weekly spellings and a small amount of written homework is introduced. Homework is intended to support the children's learning and develop the understanding that learning does not just take part in school.
