Following on from a successful launch in January, we were delighted to welcome a further 67 Years 5 and 6 pupils from 21 different, local primary schools to our campus on Saturday 2 March for a second Invite and Inspire morning.

A series of free workshops led by our staff, has been developed as an academic enrichment programme, to allow young children to further explore subjects in which they have a keen interest or may wish to explore for the first time. Workshops included Acrylic Painting, Creating Comic Book Characters, Code Breaking, Beginners Python Coding, and Young Scientists. Children were once again given the opportunity to broaden their knowledge, develop skills beyond the classroom, and delve into subjects they may not have experienced before.

Assistant Head (Partnerships), Emma Bowater, commented “We were thrilled to follow the successful launch of our Invite and Inspire programme with another session this month, and even more delighted to have been able to open it up to local Year 6 children too. Our young visitors gave great feedback, with 90% saying they enjoyed learning new things, which is exactly what we are striving to achieve with this programme. The staff-led workshops were supported by our Sixth Form students, and we were very pleased to receive such positive feedback from parents on how their children enjoyed speaking with our students, and how helpful, kind, and friendly they were.”

Further, free, Invite and Inspire sessions for Year 5 and 6 children will take place on Saturday 18 May and 22 June 2024. For further information and to register interest, click here.
