Our Invite and Inspire academic enrichment programme dedicates time for young people to delve into subjects they are passionate about, sparking intellectual curiosity and igniting a love for lifelong learning.
Our workshops are carefully curated to inspire creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration. By engaging with specialist staff and facilities, pupils will not only deepen their knowledge but also develop practical skills that extend beyond the classroom. The interactive nature of the workshops aim to cultivate a sense of inquiry, encouraging pupils to ask questions, seek answers, and think independently.
Through experiential learning and positive mentorship with our Sixth Form supporters, we strive to build confidence, empowering visiting pupils to embrace new opportunities. The workshops also contribute to the enhancement of social skills, promoting a supportive community.
By fostering a love for learning, nurturing confidence, and promoting a positive mindset, we aim to equip our pupils with the tools they need for success not only in their academic endeavours but in their wider lives.
Workshops are free and open to Year 5 and Year 6 children from all local primary schools.
Our next workshops will be running on the following dates:

A fun and creative session where you will develop ideas to create exciting superheroes and supervillains that could appear in a brand-new comic book. This session will involve you using your imagination and creative skills to develop interesting characters that could appear in the next Marvel comic!*

Our code breaking session aims to encourage critical thinking as students analyse patterns, sequences, and numerical relationships to break each code. This workshop promises to inspire a love for mathematics while equipping students with valuable problem-solving tools.
Are you interested in learning coding skills but have found the initial steps to be somewhat challenging? Worry not! In this session, we will delve into the foundational aspects of programming, providing guidance on embarking upon the journey to develop your own software and apps. Python, the rapidly advancing programming language, is extensively utilised by universities and businesses. Not only is it exceptionally intuitive, but it can be easily mastered with a little curiosity. No need to bring your own computer, as the session will be conducted using the IT facilities provided by the College.
Our Young Scientists will dive into a world of comprehensive hands-on experimentation. Our programme empowers young scientists to conduct exciting experiments across the scientific spectrum, fostering a love for inquiry-based learning.
Join us to immerse yourself in language and culture. Do you like learning new words and making connections between them? Are you intrigued when you discover similarities and differences between you and people who lived (thousands of years) in the past? Are you a fan of Percy Jackson? If the answer to any of these question is YES… then come and learn some Latin – the language of the Romans, the Pope and now you too! In our second session, travel with us through the shapes and colours of world-renown artist Pablo Picasso to learn Spanish. With guidance from specialist Spanish teachers, you will learn a few words and produce a Picassian piece of art which you can take home. Let your imagination and creativity roam free, olé!
Places on all workshops are limited and will be allocated on a first come first served basis.
In addition to pupil workshops, free CPD opportunities are available for primary teachers of Design and Technology.
