Prep School Sport Scholar Training

On Wednesday 14th October, Lower and Upper Third Sports Scholars attended their first session in the Strength and Conditioning programme. Led by Director of Sport, Miss Gordon, and Head of Cricket and Strength and Conditioning, Mr Hughes, the young athletes were put through their paces in a range of fitness tests assessing their speed, power and agility.

Pupils were introduced to speed, agility and quickness (SAQ) training drills using mini hurdles and ladders to improve their footwork and co-ordination. The final part of the sessions involved learning about the serious business of strength and conditioning training where pupils learned the basic, but fundamentally important, techniques of squats, lunges and dead lifts to name but a few.
