Join us on Saturday 20 September 2025, from 9am - 2pm for our College Open Event for all stages of entry. Meet our staff and pupils, enjoy a pupil-led tour of our beautiful campus, participate in interactive workshops and hear from Jo Wallace, Head of Pre-Prep, Rachael Cox, Head of the Prep School, Alex Swart-Wilson, Head of Sixth Form, and John Maguire, College Headmaster. Our Pre-Prep, Prep School, and Senior School Admissions teams will also be available for any questions regarding our admissions process, scholarships, fees, and bursaries.

The Stortfordian Diploma

Embrace opportunity, develop greater independence, and broaden your horizons with our bespoke Stortfordian Diploma. A pioneering programme which complements your A Level qualifications, the Diploma is designed to prepare you for life beyond the College, encompassing intellectual curiosity, service and leadership, employment insights, and personal growth.

Working closely with our Futures Department, you will build a unique portfolio of experiences across these four strands of the Diploma, from life inside and outside the College, as you shape and showcase those skills which universities and employers are looking for.

You will have the opportunity to choose from a range of externally accredited qualifications offered within the Diploma including: the Extended Project Qualification (EPQ), Mini Master of Business Administration (MBA), International English Language Testing System (IELTS)/ Certificate in Advanced English (CAE), Silver Trinity Arts Award, Leith’s Cookery School, and AS German, French or Spanish. Some of these courses carry UCAS points and may be recognised as part of university offers.

Structure of the Diploma

Activities within the Diploma programme are divided into five themed bands and credits are awarded dependent on the level of commitment required. Some activities will gain you qualifications, others will build your experience.

All you do to shape your unique Diploma is awarded credits across the four strands, dependent upon the level of commitment required. The Stortfordian Diploma is awarded at Pass, Merit or Distinction in the spring term of Upper Sixth.
