Sixth

Pastoral Care

With around 140 students in each Sixth Form year group, many coming from international backgrounds, you’ll find Sixth at the College to be inclusive and busy. Here you will have various opportunities to explore and create your own, unique, journey of discovery.

Whether a day or boarding student, you will be part of a House and partnered with a House Buddy, to help you navigate your first few weeks at the College. Your House will play an important part of your College experience and the team of staff in each House will support you with all your pastoral and practical needs.

Pastoral Care in our Sixth Form is delivered through our House system. Here you will become a member of one of our ten Houses, championing its sense of belonging and community. Each House has a structured support system through House staff, tutors, and peer mentors within which you will feel valued.

Discover our House System

Our House staff work closely with our Heads of Lower and Upper Sixth, Academic Tutors, and the Head of Sixth Form to ensure your needs are met during your time at the College. Our House model offers tailored, one-on-one student support, ensuring you are known, valued, and guided. You will build a close relationship with the House staff, who will equally look to you for leadership within the House as members of our Sixth Form.

“I love the community that is formed with the students in the Sixth Form and also the teachers. I feel supported and know that if I were to need help or advice, I will always be able to find it.”

SIXTH FORM STUDENT

Structure of Your Day

Your timetable will reflect the A Levels you have chosen to study, but there will be plenty of time for independent study, clubs and clinics (which generally take place at lunch time), your Sixth Form Diploma, Pathways, Life Skills as well as sport, music and drama. You will be free to leave the campus at lunchtimes and to study at home some afternoons, dependent on your timetable and your teacher requirements.
