Last Friday, 9 February, our U12A boys’ hockey team represented the College in the county championships, hosted on our Astros.
Playing a total of six games, our team showed a superb level of determination and intensity in every match. Up first against Hitchin Boys’ School, our boys played a thrilling match which saw them go 1-0 up, with Hitchin fighting back and scoring a goal to level the playing field at 1-1. The game continued with numerous opportunities for both teams to score, which Hitchin capitalised on, ending the match 2-1.
Nevertheless, our team picked themselves up and secured consecutive wins in their next matches; 3-0 vs Aldwickbury, 2-1 vs St Albans, 1-0 vs Merchant Taylor’s, 2-0 vs Hockerill Anglo-European College, and 3-0 vs Watford Grammar School.
With these victories securing our U12s as runners up in the tournament, they have now qualified for regionals which will take place later this year.
