Following their victory at the county tournament back in late February, our U11 boys’ hockey team traveled to Gresham’s School on Tuesday 19 March for the East Regionals U11 boys’ hockey final.

Up against 12 other schools, the tournament was split into two pools of six teams. A 2-0 victory against Bedford Prep School kicked the tournament off to a great start for the team, followed by a 1-0 win against Culford School and a 0-0 draw against a strong side from Beeston Hall School. The team from Chigwell School was the only one to score against the College in the group stages, but our team bounced back with a 2-0 win in their final group match against King’s College School Cambridge.

Vying for a spot in the finals, the team faced St John’s College School in the semi-final, where a 0-0 result took the match to a shootout to determine the winner. Sadly, the College lost 1-3, narrowly missing out on a place in the final.

The 3rd and 4th place play-off saw the College team face Beeston Hall School once again. In an evenly balanced match, the game ended in another 0-0 draw, resulting in the College team finishing in joint 3rd place.
