On Thursday 27 March, the Bishop’s Stortford Pupil Voice Network came together once again for their annual conference at Bishop’s Stortford College.
The event provides a fantastic opportunity for school councils from Bishop’s Stortford and the surrounding area to share and present their ideas about projects they have worked on within their school communities. This year the schools in attendance were Bishop’s Stortford College Prep School, The Bishop’s Stortford High School, Elsenham CofE Primary School, Little Hadham Primary School, Northgate Primary School, St Michael’s CofE Primary School, and Thorn Grove Primary School.
This year’s theme was ‘Every Voice Matters and Every Voice Heard’. Attendees completed lots of different activities which helped them understand that in every school, every voice should be heard despite hurdles which might make this difficult, such as being neurodiverse, having a disability or speaking English as a second language.
Bishop’s Stortford Mayor, Richard Townsend, joined the event to judge the entries in the Community Pupil Voice Award. This award celebrates the work being done by local school councils and this year the team from The Bishop’s Stortford High School was a very deserving winner.
The day was fabulous success; staff and pupils alike all agreed that they would love to attend the next conference in 2026!
