Three pupils from Bishop’s Stortford College are celebrating, after being selected to join the England Hockey Talent Academy. Rori F (Lower Sixth), Malli C (Upper Fifth) and Ossie B (Lower Fifth) will join this month, after their hockey talents were recognised nationally.

England Hockey Talent Academies are set up by England Hockey and support the development of young, high-performance hockey players. They are intended for the highest potential 15 to 18 year old players and offer multiple weekly opportunities for high-quality coaching and training through a combination of dedicated sessions and integrated sport activity. Every Talent Academy has a squad of players selected through a robust process based on the England Hockey Player Profile.

Commenting on their selection, Assistant Director of Sport and Head of Girls’ Hockey at Bishop’s Stortford College, Nick Prowse, said, “We are delighted and proud of Rori, Malli and Ossie on their selection to the Hockey Talent Academy. All three players have shown a tremendous amount of commitment and dedication to their hockey during their time at the College and are also flourishing at Bishop’s Stortford Hockey Club. Rori and Malli are in the Ladies 1st XI and Ossie is an integral part of the Men’s 2nd XI. We wish them well over the coming months at the Talent Academy and will be working hard with them to achieve their hockey goals.”
