On Friday 16th September, the College community came together for the whole College charity day, celebrating Isabel Hospice's 40th Anniversary and Tonnes of Care appeal.
To support the appeal, pupils, parents, guardians and staff had been asked to bring in any donations of clothing, toys, shoes, books and more. By 9am, the 'pop-up donation stations' across all three areas of the College, Pre-Prep, Prep, and Senior Schools, were heaving with bags and boxes of pre-loved items ready to go to new homes.
It was a delight to welcome several members of the Isabel Hospice team to assemblies across the College, speaking to the staff and pupils about the incredible work the Hospice does and how valuable their pre-loved donations will be.
In usual College fashion, cake sales were a staple of this year's charity day with an assortment of baked goods including homemade cakes, doughnuts, cookies and more covering the tables. The sale stations were busy as always with pupils and staff!
A total of 303 bags of donations were loaded into the Isabel Hospice vans by pupils and staff, and a heartwarming set of online pledges and WCCD cash donations have raised an incredible total so far.
On behalf of Isabel Hospice, the College extends its thanks to our community for their generous donations – what a wonderful start to the year.
