Friends of the Prep School and Pre-Prep

All parents and guardians of children at the Pre-Prep and Prep School are members of The Friends. Their purpose is to:

  • Raise funds for school life enrichment for the Pre-Prep and Prep Schools
  • Run their own events for pupils and parents
  • Assist the College with Pre-Prep and Prep School events
  • Assist the Prep School Prefects and Pre-Prep pupils in raising funds for their nominated charities

The interests of all the members of the Friends are represented by a Committee elected at the AGM held in late September. The Committee meets twice a term to discuss and implement ideas, activities and events.

Many parents enjoy getting more involved in the life of the school by supporting the Committee in running various events around the school. Most recently, parents at our school have worked tremendously hard to organise Christmas Fayres, Father Christmas and Easter Bunny visits for our younger pupils, as well as Summer Fun Days and School Discos for the enjoyment of our Prep School pupils. Money raised at these activities have enabled us to purchase planters for our outdoor environment, wet play games, role play equipment, and to enhance our pupil’s overall school experience.

Getting involved with the activities of The Friends is also a great chance to meet with like-minded, friendly people. In the last couple of years The Friends have hosted a variety of coffee mornings, gift markets, a May Ball and several quiz nights for parents.

These events have helped boost our fundraising efforts so that we have been able to fund larger projects including a sunshade sail for the Prep School Library, a sensory garden for the Pre-Prep, and contribution towards the establishment of the Prep School Pupil Council.

Our staff are always grateful to The Friends for the help they give at a variety of school events. These include our Festival of Literature, open events, school plays, and various sports events.

Every year, pupils in both our Pre-Prep and Prep School choose to support one or more charities for the academic year. Whenever possible, The Friends assist with their fundraising efforts with cake sales, raffles, and other events.

If every parent/guardian could help in the small way by offering an hour of their time at a Friends event, we can all make a huge difference to the lives of our pupils and families.

The Friends are very much looking forward to an exciting year ahead. Highlights include:

  • Christmas discos in our Prep School
  • A visit from Father Christmas in Pre-Prep
  • Christmas Fayre
  • Annual quiz night for parents
  • Assisting the Easter Bunny in the delivery of chocolate goodies
  • Summer Fun Day
