Following an extensive consultation process during the autumn and spring terms involving staff, pupils and parents, a proposal to change the shape of the College week has been agreed by our Governing Council.

From September 2023, both our Prep and Senior Schools will operate a two-week timetable, with academic lessons being taught between Monday and Friday only.  No academic lessons will be taught on a Saturday.  This move provides flexibility to deliver an improved academic and co-curricular schedule for pupils that offers greater breadth and depth as well as opportunities, now and in the future, for new subjects to be taught.

The focus on Saturdays from September 2023 will be sport, with an increased fixture programme introduced across both schools, as well as training for selected team squads.

Our boarding community forms a central part of College life and existing weekend activities will be expanded through carefully tailored programmes suited to boarders’ ages, talents and interests; all provided in a happy, caring and inclusive environment. The weekend activity programme will continue to provide a balance between match representation, off site trips, on campus social activities and downtime; enabling boarders to relax after a busy week.

Work to reshape the academic timetable has been undertaken over the past two years and stems from both pupil and parent voices, heard clearly through surveys and forums, and informally.

We are confident these changes will offer improved teaching, learning and sporting opportunities across the schools, and that pupils and staff will benefit from the enriched timetable that will be offered.

The happiness, wellbeing and educational journey of our pupils lies at the heart of College life; we believe all will be enhanced.
