Bishop’s Stortford College included in Top 100 UK Schools for Cricket

The UK’s best schools for cricket have been revealed in the Cricketer’s Schools Guide 2023, with Bishop’s Stortford College appearing in both the top 100 Senior school and top 50 Prep/Junior school categories.

The guide includes both independent and state-funded schools, with entries judged against an extensive set of criteria and through an exhaustive selection process.

Commenting on Bishop’s Stortford College’s inclusion in The Cricketer Schools Guide 2023, Director of Sport, Health and Fitness, Evan Stewart, said, “It is fantastic that our commitment to delivering an outstanding cricket programme for boys and girls, across both our Senior and Prep schools has been recognised by the judging panel at The Cricketer.  There were a huge number of entries submitted for consideration by schools across the UK, with judging criteria focused around demonstrating compelling commitment to cricket in curriculum, facilities, fixture programmes and coaching.”

Stewart continues, “Our coaching team, led by Heads of Cricket, David Hughes and Hannah Fordham, work tirelessly throughout the year to develop a successful cricket programme, which strives to create greater inclusivity for both boys and girls across the College.  The exponential growth we have seen, specifically in girls’ cricket during the past year, has been exceptional, and we look forward to continuing on this path in the coming season.”
