On Thursday 17th March, pupils in Lower Shell enjoyed an information-packed trip to the Verulamium Museum in St Albans.

In the morning, pupils had a hands-on artefact handling session, where they learned to ask and answer questions about a whole range of different household objects, enquiring as to what their use would have been 2000 years ago.

In the museum, pupils learned about many different aspects of Roman life, such as their past-times, religious beliefs, burial rituals, implements they used to construct buildings and how they decorated the interior of their homes.

Pupils enjoyed a wonderful, thought-provoking trip which furthered their history learning.
