Lower Shell Judaism Workshop pupils looking at torah

On Wednesday 23rd February, Shell pupils participated in an informative and insightful workshop on Judaism led by Ruth from Judaism for Schools.

In the morning, both Lower and Upper Shell pupils listened to an assembly led by Ruth, in which she explained some of the stories in the Torah, and why the text is so important in the lives of Jewish people.

Lower Shell then went on to participate in a variety of workshop activities designed to further their learning on the topic of Judaism. Pupils made candles, wrote their names in Hebrew, tried on tallit prayer shawls, designed their own challah covers and tasted some of the traditional foods eaten at Passover.

The pupils had a great time learning more about the faith, and asked lots of interesting and thought-provoking questions.
