Meisha Bags a Bronze Medal
Lower Fifth pupil, Meisha, won a Bronze medal with a time of 11 minutes 11 seconds, just 16 seconds off the winning Gold medal time, in a recent virtual 3km running competition that she took part in against Belgrave Harriers Running Club. Meisha’s win contributed to the overall success of her running club, Club WGEL, winning the competition.
Meisha, who is a young triathlete and regularly takes part in local competitions, has been keeping up with her training and fitness during the lockdown. Although unable to undertake any swimming at the moment due to swimming pools still being closed, Meisha has instead increased her running training to 40km a week.
Meisha has also been completing the weekly year group Strava running/walking challenges set by the PE Department and has so far been top of her year for the last 3 weeks, running a total of 60km over the week commencing 1st February.
Well done to Meisha, the College wishes her the best of luck in all her future competitions.
