College Transport Service
Welcome to our School Transport and Travel Guide for the 2022—2023 academic year. This guide provides you with full details of our College Transport Service, offering pupils an environmentally friendly option for travel to and from school that avoids the need to use the car.
Our College Transport Service currently consists of three separate routes. One originates in Welwyn North and serves Watton-at-Stone, Thundridge, Standon and Little Hadham, the second route starts in Welwyn Garden City and runs via Cole Green, Hertford and Ware, and the third route starts from Epping railway station and serves Epping, Harlow and Sawbridgeworth. We operate all routes ourselves, using modern minibuses fitted with CCTV and driven by friendly drivers who are directly employed by the College.
The map below shows all routes currently available:
Our College Transport Service provides a high quality, safe and reliable alternative to the car for the journey to and from school, allowing a reduction in both our carbon footprint and on-site traffic congestion. All routes run in both directions Monday to Friday. Pupils arrive on site for 08:15 in the morning, in plenty of time for the start of the school day, and the return service departs from the College at 17:15. On Leave Weekends, and at the end of each Half Term / Term, the return service will depart earlier, in line with the earlier finish times for these days.
The College Transport Service is available to all pupils in Lower Shell and above whether they are travelling with an older sibling or on their own. The cost of the service is £10 per single journey, although parents making a commitment to use the service on a regular basis can benefit from a 25% saving and pay £75 per week.
