Eight pupils are celebrating, after being selected to join the England Hockey Talent Academy 2024-2025. Rori F (Year 13), Malli C (Year 12), Ossie B (Year 11), Beth M (Year 11), Evie C (Year 10), Charlotte P (Year 10), Tate B (Year 10) and William R (Year 10) will join this month, after their hockey talents were recognised nationally.

England Hockey Talent Academies are set up by England Hockey and support the development of young, high-performance hockey players. Academies operate across the UK, with a robust selection process following a series of trials. Once selected, Academy squad members train weekly and regularly compete in matches against other Hockey Talent Academies. At the end of the season, the Talent Academy Cup takes place, observed by selectors from England Hockey.

Commenting on their selection, Evan Stewart, Director of Sport, Health and Fitness said, “We are delighted that so many of our pupils have been selected to join England Hockey Talent Academy this year and congratulate all of them on this achievement. Each plays regularly at the highest level possible for their age groups, and their selection is testament to their hard work and dedication to the sport.”

“We offer a superb hockey programme for girls and boys at the College, and our expert coaches will be supporting Rori, Malli, Ossie, Beth, Evie, Charlotte, Tate and William to fulfil their potential, as they develop further into high performance hockey players, competing at national level.”
