Bishop’s Stortford Rotary Youth Technology Competition 2022

Congratulations to our senior team comprising Jonathan M, Toby P, Peter F and Fenton C who emerged victorious from the competition this year. The competition was closely fought with an impressive turnout of students competing on behalf of all seven Bishop’s Stortford and Sawbridgeworth secondary schools.

Our intermediate team who won last year’s competition came second this year.

Our foundation team put up an excellent effort and worked very well together as a team to produce a functioning device in two hours.

Each team was tasked with designing and building a coin sorting device based on a charity collection theme. Teams had to design, construct and test their device and present a portfolio of their ideas for judgement. There was a fantastic atmosphere throughout the afternoon with teams supporting and encouraging each other despite the competitive focus. While not everyone could be rewarded with a prize, Birchwood High School did provide some very welcome hotdogs and donuts at the end of the day!
