Immersive Spanish Half Term Trip for U3rd
Forty-three Upper Third pupils and five members of staff left very early on Friday 18 October for the Spanish trip to Arbolar Activity Centre in Murcia, Spain. Undaunted by the early start, everyone was excited to settle into their dorms and to see the sunshine and the sea!
Arbolar Centre were very welcoming and had lots of fun activities planned for our stay – all taught in Spanish of course. All pupils (and teachers) enjoyed a shopping trip to a local market where the highlights were the delicious churros with hot chocolate and bargaining for football kit! An outing to nearby Cartagena gave an interesting insight into Roman history with a visit to a Roman theatre dating from 2000 years BC, and we surprised some other tourists with our rousing singing on stage. Other fantastic experiences were sailing and kayaking on the Mar Menor, playing games on the beach, a talent show and some energetic latin dancing!
Everyone returned with an improved Spanish vocabulary and a big smile on their face. ¡Hasta la próxima!
