Dragon's Apprentices Soak Up Clever Soap Idea
On the morning of Wednesday 6th March, the nine members of the Dragon’s Apprentice group led an assembly and discussed their experiences about taking part in this inter-school business challenge. Having decided on producing soap as their product and then selling it, they explained to pupils from Lower Shell to Form Two what this involved.
Elementary Soap received 363 orders and made a total of 887 bars of soap. They made a total profit of £456.67, which is to be donated to their designated partner charity Age Concern, Bishop’s Stortford.
Paula Moon of CVSBEH (Community Voluntary Services for Broxbourne and East Herts), which ran the Dragon's Apprentice competition, presented each member of the team with a certificate on behalf of the organisation , who ran the competition. The team visited their headquarters in Broxbourne in February where they gave a presentation to three ‘Dragons’. Elementary Soap came second overall, winning three of the nine categories, including Most Innovative Business Idea, Best partnership with their Charity, and Outstanding Individual Contribution, which went to Georgia R. It is also worth noting that apart from the winners and our team, no other school received more than a single award – so we are very proud of their achievements.
