Headmaster Announces Retirement in 2020
The following letter was sent to parents and staff from Guy Baker, Chair of Governors, on Wednesday 16th January 2019.
Dear Parents and Staff,
I write to inform you that The College Headmaster, Jeremy Gladwin, has notified me of his intention to retire on 31st August 2020.
I am sure it goes without saying that Jeremy loves his job as Headmaster of this wonderful school, but after what will have been 6 years of Deputy Headship and 14 years of Headship, of which 8 will have been at Bishop’s Stortford College, Jeremy feels that it is time for him to make way for a successor. Under Jeremy’s leadership, the College has continued to enhance its impressive academic credentials, and to grow and deliver the biggest building programme in its history. Jeremy will leave Bishop’s Stortford College “ at the top of its game”. I will have more to say about Jeremy’s legacy at Speech Day in 2020.
The Board of Governors will now embark upon selecting a worthy successor.
With best wishes
Guy Baker, Chair of Governors
