Stunning Design Show 2018
This year's Product Design Show, exhibiting innovative design projects by our A Level and GCSE pupils, took place on the evening of Tuesday 26th June. Drinks and canapes were served on the lawn outside the Design and Technology Department, ahead of the show.
This year we welcomed Nicola Perring, a product buyer from The Nest, to be our guest judge for the evening. Nicola has a product buying background and has therefore seen many new designs over the years. She looked at all the A Level and GCSE projects on display, with an eye out for the most commercially viable product. She spent over an hour looking carefully at the projects that accompanied the work to make her decisions. There was also Prep school, 4th Form and Lower 6th work on display to celebrate all the hard work over the last academic year.
Congratulations to the winning designers:
- Katrina W - Petra Picnic
- Ollie M—Tub TUB
- Charlie J— Aero Desk
- Honourable mention—Ben L with his paper aeroplane-making machine.
- Erin R—Indian inspired make up stool
- Jack C—Japanese inspired Ski Chalet
- Isabella G—African inspired Jewellery Boxes
- Honourable mention—Vinay M with his cardboard furniture.
Nicola was extremely impressed with the creativity of the work and suggested a few designs that should be put into Kick Starter, as they have real potential in the market place.
Well done to everyone for all their hard work.
