Upper Shell History Visit to Stansted Mountfitchet
Upper Shell pupils had a great time learning more about Norman life at Stansted Mountfichet Castle on Tuesday 16th May, including how the Normans conquered England and built Motte and Bailey castles. The pupils gained a real sense of castle life and what would happen to those unfortunate enough to be punished. From the bee keeper to the Baron's Grand Dining hall, we sampled it all, although a highlight had to be the catapult firing water balloons!
