Swimmers in IAPS National Championship Finals

 IAPS National Finals at Crawley

The IAPS National Swimming Championship finals were held on Saturday, 6th May at the K2 Leisure centre in Crawley.  This year there were more than 4,000 entries from 250 schools in one of the Regional rounds held throughout the Country, with only the top 16 qualifying for the finals.  A group of Prep School pupils qualified for the finals and are to be congratulated for their performances on Saturday:

  • Henry K finished 16th in the U10 breaststroke in a time of 22.09, which was half a second faster than his qualifying time.  
  • Alistaire S qualified in 16th position in the U11 breaststroke. He improved his ranking to finish in 10th place in a time of 43.73, which was nearly 3 seconds faster than his qualifying time.  
  • James G qualified in 10th position for the U12 breaststroke. He made the final and finished 8th in a time of 39.57, which was more than 3 seconds faster than his qualifying time. 
  • The Girls U12 qualified in 12th position for the medley relay. They improved their ranking to finish in 10th place.  
  • Georgina B swam in the U12 breaststroke in an excellent time but was unfortunately disqualified.  
  • Martha B qualified in 15th position for the U12 backstroke. She made the final and finished in 7th place in a time of 36.97, which was more than 3 seconds faster than her qualifying time.
