Digital Leaders & Safer Internet Day 2017
Safer Internet Day tomorrow will be observed in schools across the UK, acting as a useful reminder of how to stay safe online, with special emphasis this year on the Power of the Image. To coincide with this, volunteers from the Senior School have recently joined the nationwide peer education programme, ‘Digital Leaders’, from UK charity Childnet International. Our new Digital Leaders gave a presentation in assembly this morning to their peers about the potential dangers of social media and how messages and images can be interpreted by others. Pupils were encouraged to think twice before sharing on social media, asking themselves if their post could in any way be hurtful or disrespectful to anyone or could negatively influence someone else's, or their own, online reputation.
