Thought-Provoking Ferguson Lecture by Freddy Naftel
On Wednesday 1st February Holocaust Educator Freddy Naftel came to the College to give an interesting, thought provoking and topical Ferguson Lecture on the Holocaust and modern genocide. The lecture was related to events happening around the globe - both historic and current.
The audience was presented with facts, both past and present and a number of deep and thoughtful questions were asked at the end of the talk.
Freddy stayed behind for his evening meal and helped a number of students explore the themes of arrogance, ignorance and intolerance in more detail - which for some will feature in the extended essays.
Our next Ferguson Lecture will take place on 22nd March and will be given by Sughra Ahmed, who will chat about and answer questions on 'being British, female and Muslim'. All are welcome to come along and enjoy an environment that respects opinions and encourages meaningful dialogue, you can book your ticket here.
