Keeping Lessons Live
In order to continue to deliver excellent teaching, whatever the Covid-19 circumstances, Senior School teachers at the College have been taking part in detailed training sessions to further enhance our remote online teaching and learning programmes.
Throughout the Summer term, academic staff across the College delivered almost 13,000 live Zoom lessons whilst pupils were learning from home. With the aim of improving upon this provision, since September, Senior School staff have been piloting various strategies designed to provide an authentic learning experience for pupils in class alongside those needing to isolate at home. Additional training means that staff are now adept at sharing materials with two audiences simultaneously and have been able to develop their interactivity with those at home through the use of Zoom. By providing clear access to all lessons, pupils are able to continue with their learning at home and still contribute and participate in class.
Here is an example of the remote learning provision we currently have in place for pupils:
“Please can we pass our grateful thanks on to your teaching and support staff who have worked so hard to provide [our daughter] with access to learning materials at home. The resources have been incredibly well-prepared and the online support offered by [our daughter’s] teaching staff has been excellent.” – Senior School parent
“This is a great initiative and we really appreciate the College’s planning for the worst-case scenario whilst at the same time delivering an excellent experience for the children. Thanks to you and all your staff for all their efforts, it is much appreciated.” – Senior School parent
