Annie Price in Lower Sixth Lecture

On Friday 11th September, Lower Sixth students listened to an inspirational and moving talk by TV Presenter, Annie Price, whilst Upper Sixth students were visited by 6 Old Stortfordians who discussed life at university and what the Upper Sixth can expect.

In their first pathways session of the Autumn term, Upper Sixth students were given plenty of advice and tips on how to prepare for university life, what to expect in lectures, how best to manage their workload, the types of skills they may gain at university, the university application process and much more from the 6 visiting Old Stortfordians.

Upper Sixth student, Anya W, commented “We all found it really useful to have a student perspective on undergraduate uni life and have the chance to ask any questions. The range of students at varied universities doing different courses allowed us also to see how university experience is personal to each student.”.

At the same time, over in the Memorial Hall, Lower Sixth students engaged in an empowering and stirring presentation by BAFTA award-winning TV Presenter, Annie Price. Discussing her remarkable life and touching upon the ideas of resilience, perseverance and overcoming adversity in her talk, Out Of The Ashes, students were given the opportunity to ask questions after listening intently to Annie’s life story.
