Benson & Sutton Fundraising Day for EducAid
On Wednesday 29th January, Benson and Sutton Houses set out to raise money for the EducAid. The charity runs an educational network comprising free schools and teacher training in Sierra Leone, with a focus on developing a quality education in an environment of equality and was chosen because a group of Benson and Tee House girls travelled with them to Sierra Leone in October half term. The trip made the girls realise the impact of education in such a poor country and fuelled their desire to raise money for this cause.
On their Charity Day, Sutton and Benson held a series of fundraising events, including a cake sale, sponsored leg waxing and a charity car wash, with the majority of the money raised thanks to the cake sale! Benson and Sutton House pupils also wore blue or green jumpers during the day, the chosen colours of EducAid, to raise money and awareness for the charity and its aims. All in all, the fundraising was hugely successful and between them, the Houses managed to raise more than £500.
Well done Sutton and Benson!
